Fellow Gang Members,

So check this out. I’m on the flight home to LA from Auckland. I’ve got an aisle seat in the middle row. Across the aisle and to the left of me, I notice this guy shift around in his seat and lose his pillow. I snatch it up from the floor and hand it to him. He smiles and nods his ‘thanks’. I’m talking to this older lady sitting next to me. She runs a B&B in the Catlins which is in the southern part of the South Island.

All of a sudden I hear someone say, “FTX”. I turn around and look, “What?” The guy who had dropped his pillow is looking at me and repeats, “FTX. You were out there for that French Toast thing, right?” I begin cracking up as I finally recognize him. He was on rollerblades when he happened by FTX Auckland. He didn’t indulge in any goodies because he was going for a 40km ride. Eating wasn’t in the plans. But I spoke to him quite a bit that day because he was so amazed at what we were doing. He said he didn’t recognize me at first because of the hat and sunglasses, but eventually pieced it together. The lady next to me asked me about the French Toast thing so I explained it to her. She could barely contain her delight.

After we landed, the guy, who I learned was from New York, told his traveling companions about FTX. Everyone was all smiles upon hearing the exploits of FTX. Pretty soon they were asking where and when the next one would be held, alas I had no answer. So I told them to check out the website.

It was a pretty groovy coincidence, and one more example of how FTX is a force of real positivity in the world.
